On November 4, 2025 the Idaho Water Resource Board approved 20 Telemetry and Monitoring grants totaling $1,258,459 for surface water entities and groundwater districts in the Eastern Snake Plain region. These projects include modernization of flow monitoring, telemetry-based flow meter systems, well telemetry, remote pump control, software development, acoustic Doppler equipment, Rubicon SlipMeter installations, and other real‑time measurement tools to meet stricter mitigation and monitoring requirements. Although the grant awards are decided, many recipients will now implement or expand IT, instrumentation, and SCADA‑type systems, often integrating Ethos telemetry and BID Soft conversions, and may need additional equipment, integration, networking, data management, and support services. The Board also indicated that a portion of a $30 million legislative appropriation is committed to telemetry and real‑time monitoring, suggesting future related projects. Vendors of telemetry hardware, software, integration, and data platforms can approach funded districts to support implementation and position for future phases or complementary systems.
